Summer at its best ...

Mountain summer in Val Pusteria

Val Pusteria and the Dolomites offer a wide range of excursion destinations: Hiking trails and mountain bike trails through picturesque mountain valleys, mysterious lakes, the medieval alleyways of Brunico or a perfectly constructed bike path.

Hiking & Mountaineering

Plan de Corones, at 2,275 meters, is a relatively easy mountain to climb for someone normally fit and features a magnificent panoramic view. If you have small children, you can ascend in one of the lifts and hike across the mountain meadows. There are many other hiking trails in the region, such as the Corones loop trail (6.6 km). The opportunities for mountaineers near Plan de Corones include via ferratas, ridge trails and stately peaks like Rammelstein (2,483 m) or Schönbichl (2,450 m) in Perca.

Mountain biking & cycling

Exhilarating alpine trails, vigorous passages along the main alpine ridges, family tours through conifer forests or challenging activities like the Fanes-Sennes round tour (33 km), one of the most popular MTB tours in the Alps – in the Plan de Corones region you'll barely have to get out of the saddle to reach rewarding destinations. If you want to take things a little easier, try the Val Pusteria bike path from Rio di Pusteria to Lienz, Austria (105 km); you and your bike can easily return by train.

Summer feeling on the water

Something refreshing, anyone? Our sun-drenched Plan de Corones region knows summer days that are best spent on a secluded lake shore or at a beautiful waterpark. There you can cool off wonderfully, blink at the sky and make plans for the next day. The Cron4 waterworld and wellness oasis beckons you right from Riscone. There are outdoor pools in the nearby towns of Valdaora, Brunico and Monguelfo. And if you want something more natural, we recommend the Lago di Issengo for swimming.

Riding on Haflinger horses

"The greatest happiness on earth is on horseback." This old saying is particularly true in our fast-paced motorized age. The best remedy: Get to know South Tyrol from the saddle perspective, on the back of a good-natured Haflinger horse and get a thoroughly grounded feeling for the landscape. There are plenty of riding stables in the Plan de Corones area, where you can learn to ride or refresh your skills – up to riding horseback over the alpine meadows.

Golf in a dream setting

Can you imagine a more beautiful setting for a golf course than the Val Pusteria with Plan de Corones? No wonder that they built a nine-hole golf course at the Reiperting sports park in Riscone – right near your vacation home. The Mirabell golf club offers a three-hole course in Valdaora. Improve your handicap, earn your golfing permit, enjoy the day with like-minded people and taste a South Tyrolean wine in the Val Pusteria golf club clubhouse – it’s easy for you to enjoy all these golfing pleasures at Plan de Corones.

High tension in the high ropes course

Up the trees, get set, go! A bit of a thrill, a bit of artistry and body control, lots of fun with a high repetition factor – the Val Pusteria high ropes courses, such as the KronAction Outdoor & Fun Park, promise pure emotions at lofty heights: from courses for toddlers to dizzying balancing acts for real experts. Families and other group teams are also very welcome. Schussing on the zip line is especially popular with young and old!

Scale the heights ...

... so you can calm down.
